Chuxin Yue

PhD Student


Chuxin Yue was born in a small town in the south of China. In 2015, after she graduated from high school, she started her B.Sc in China University of Geosciences, majoring in materials chemistry. In 2019, Chuxin received her master’s degree from The University of Edinburgh, majoring in materials chemistry too. Her master’s thesis was concerned with improving the performance of supercapacitors. In 2020, Chuxin took a gap year to apply for a Ph.D. position and worked for a new materials technology company in China.

In 2021, Chuxin started her Ph.D. supervised by Dr. Robert Armstrong on NEXGENNA project funded by China Scholarship Council. Her research is focused on studying the synergistic effect on substitution of both Na sites and transition-metal sites in O3- and P2-type layered oxides as a cathode material for sodium-ion batteries.
